Celebrating 30 Years:
Honoring Platinum Patron Florence Peacock | |
March 20th, CHCC celebrated our 30th anniversary A Season of Roses and honored one of our long-time supporters, Florence Peacock, with an afternoon fund raising event at the Siena Hotel in Chapel Hill.
The event, titled Wine and Roses, included wonderful food and wine, a performance by the honoree, Ms. Peacock, Shakespearan sonnets recited by chorus member John Paul Middlesworth, and selected songs by Cantari, Chapel Hill Community Chorus' small ensemble.
Ms. Peacock, is well known for her support of our community and its arts. The NC Symphony, Botanical Garden and Opera have benefited from her board memberships as have many other organizations such as the Carolina Performing Arts and the International Affairs Council.
Florence is an accomplished soprano and has performed throughout North America, Europe and the Near and Far East. She holds her Bachelor of Arts degree from Hollins College and her Master of Music degree from Yale University.
We would like to extend a special thank you to the sponsors that made our event possible.
Ms. Wyndham Robertson, Mr. Thomas Kenan, Ms. Mary Trent Semans, and Mr. and Mrs. Danny and Doreen Moran of The Wine Cellar, Durham, NC. |
