| Greetings!
As the incoming President of CHCC, I want to say thanks to all on a wonderful 29th Concert Season. The Symphonic and Cantari Concerts were just Great! Let me prime all of you for the 30th Concert Season by saying, " You ain't heard nothin' yet! "
We will not have a Summer Chorus this year because many members will be in Europe presenting four concerts as part of the Carolina International Chorale. Next summer however, Dr. Klausmeyer has planned a great program that you will not want to miss.
Have a great Summer and we'll see you in December.

| Symphonic's Spring Concert a Success |
CHCC's May 15th concert ended a great season of choral singing for the group. The hard work and dedication of the singers was evident as the group finished out the evening with John Rutter's "Mass of the Children" Finale. We were joined by Sisters' Voices, a chorus for girls based in Pittsboro and directed by Leandra Strope, and singers from two of our Chapel Hill Public Schools- Smith Middle School and McDougle Middle School, directed by Jenny Anderson.

If you missed the concert, you can read a review by Ken Hoover of Classical Voice of NC.
We look forward to seeing you at our concerts next season that will celebrate our 30th Anniversary as a singing group! |
| Carolina International Chorale |
|
Carolina International Chorale was formed in 2008 and includes CHCC members along with other members of the North Carolina musical community.
Their first international tour during the summer of 2008 took the group to Italy where they joined with other choirs to perform "Carmina Burana". During one performance singers were accompanied by a Russian orchestra overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, another took place in a beautiful cloister in Rome accompanied by two pianos and four percussionists. They ended the trip with a presentation of Robert Ray's "Gospel Mass" in Frascati.
This summer the group heads out to The Czech Republic, Austria, and Hungary.
Benedictine Abbey of Goettweig |
June 29 they will be performing at the Benedictine Abbey of Goettweig in Austria. The Monastery founded in 1083 by Saint Altmann sits on a hill 449 m above sea level in the Dunkelsteiner Forest south of the city of Krems, on the eastern edge of the world-famous Danube Valley called the Wachau.
Safe Travels to the group! We look forward to sharing pictures and stories from the trip when they return. |
