From the President
The year slips past so quickly leaving projects and resolutions unfinished. Humans seem to be seasonal beings working in the cycles of time, waking to our daily work, and in modern times, our daily entertainment. Thoughts of what is needed for the day, perhaps the week, fill our minds. Pagans often embrace the natural cycles and seasons; we embrace being human although that may mean many things to different Pagans. Few of us follow the herds for our food or even work on farms with planting and harvesting rhymes. Still, we are seasonal beings facing what is front of us and often what is easy to do. Yet, we need to build discipline in order to finish projects and meet resolutions.
Discipline takes time and effort to build. Few of us can read a book once, or try some new skill, and have a high level of mastery. This is where discipline helps us with our willingness to re-read a book and better yet use what we have read in our daily practice. Discipline is about making choices to master a topic or skill. At the very core, disciple is doing the work. This is what the teacher, school, and mentors do for us. They all can create a framework in which to build the discipline needed to complete our work. Some types of framework or feedback is needed for mastery. Attending school is one path for gaining mastery on a subject. Of course, Cherry Hill Seminary is here to help meet your needs.
