A Cherry Hill Seminary Foundations Course by Candace Kant, Ph.D.

An introduction to the contemporary Goddess Path for men and women , this course includes a brief look at ancient and modern history to set the context, then moves to consideration of cosmology and thealogy, ritual cycles and practices, life and path passages, and finally magic, values and ethics.

Students will investigate Goddess focused groups in their geographical area when possible, research a Goddess of their choice and create an altar to honor Her, develop a ritual that celebrates Goddess and craft an expression of personal ethics and or personal values from a Goddess perspective.

Candace Kant holds Bachelors and Masters degrees in history from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and a Ph.D. in history from Northern Arizona University. She has taught history, women's studies, and religious studies courses at the College of Southern Nevada since 1976, including such classes as the History of Witchcraft, Goddess Traditions, Introduction to Modern Paganism, and Modern Pagan Thought, all of which she developed.

After 32 years of teaching Candace retired and was awarded the title Emerita. She develops and teaches courses in practical Pagan and Goddess Spirituality at the Temple of Goddess Spirituality dedicated to Sekhmet in Cactus Springs, Nevada, and through College of Southern Nevada Continuing Education. A devotee of Sekhmet, she serves as a priestess at the Temple of Goddess Spirituality and participates in creating and leading rituals there. She is often asked to speak to local groups on the topic of witchcraft and paganism. She is a member of the Interfaith Council of Southern Nevada. Goddess history and spirituality are her specialties.
