From the President

The Seventh Annual Conference on Current Pagan Studies (Pagan Conference) was well attended by scholars who study Paganism, scholars who are Pagan, Pagan practitioners, and those who took interest.

Among the attendees, were many that serve the needs of CHS. Our new Academic Dean, Wendy Griffin, attended and Sabina Magliocco (who serves on our Board of Advisors) presented a paper. Four people from our Board of Directors also presented papers at the conference. These were Aline O'Brien (Macha), Jeffery Albaugh, Tony Mierzwicki, and William Blumberg. Both Jeffery and I are happy to serve as board members for the Pagan Conference.

There were two outstanding keynote speakers: Patrick McCollum and Selena Fox. Both were great speakers; however, what makes both of them truly outstanding is how they manifest-through actions-their commitment to social justice for Pagans, other religious practitioners, and others throughout the world.

The commitment to taking actions is one of the key elements with Pagan ethics where we serve our community, other people, deity, and nature.

This academic conference welcomes the community to be part of this effort. Embodied knowledge, practically learned knowledge, and inherited knowledge are important contributions to the epistemology of Pagan thought when viewed through the analytical lens that all knowledge is seen through in the academy. Especially this year, we are interested in the practical work that emerges from a sustainable theoretical framework. We are also interested in

ways to affect the future through writings, politics, research, consciousness or other ways that you have found to think of saving the planet for future generations.

Thank you to everyone who represented CHS at the Conference this year!
