Medflow Tip of the Month What is the easiest way to get Meaningful Use credit for reviewing the diagnoses? Double click Enter Dx in Sequence. Select the status by using the drop down arrow at the end of each diagnosis. This will give you a pick list for the status of the diagnoses.
The Meaningful Use measure states "More than 80% of your patients have to have an entry in the EHR about Current Diagnosis-either actual problem or just an indication that there are no problems right now." The measure is being met by putting a diagnosis in Medflow or pulling previous diagnoses. |
ICD-10 Update
The Medflow staff is hard at work to make your transition to ICD-10 coding easy. Version 7.6.4 is being developed for release near the end of 2012. This version of the Medflow software will be ICD-10 Compliant, and will support dual use of the ICD-10 and ICD-9 codes and SNOWMED. The Medflow team will provide more information in the coming months. |
Patient Education Is Getting Easier!
Whether about home repairs or health care, educating consumers is critical for their success. The better they understand the basics of the service being offered, the more they will benefit. In the case of health care, well-informed patients are more engaged, have better results, and are easier to take care of. Increasing patient satisfaction leads to higher retention and increased rates of referral. The good news? Educating patients has gotten easier with the patient portal. A practice's portal library can include not just information about disease processes, but also new products or procedures that may address a patient's specific problems. The portal helps to highlight something the patient wants or needs to better understand, right at the moment the patient is ready to learn. Paul C.
