 What's On My Ballot?

VoteButton

The April 5th Municipal Election is right around the corner.

Early Voting is currently underway and runs until March 31st.

There are a number of important contests and ballot questions that will be decided and I've heard from numerous residents regarding property tax bills in Lake County.  The upcoming April 5th election has an impact on a vast majority of your property tax bill (over 85% on average).  Below are some important resources regarding voting times and locations.

  • Where is my early voting location?
  • What is on my ballot?
  • How do I request a ballot by mail?
  • Who are my candidates?
  • What does the voter guide look like? Am I registered to vote?

Upcoming Lake County Road Projects

RoadConstructionThere is often confusion regarding which road construction projects are under the jurisdiction of the State of Illinois (IDOT) and which ones are Lake County Department of Transportation (LCDOT) responsibility.

Please visit the following link for 2011 Lake County Department of Transportation road construction projects.  Please plan accordingly!

Because You Asked!

Many people often ask, "Why isn't there more coordination between the Federal State, County and Local governments on road projects?"  Unfortunately, while Lake County maintains a fully funded 5-year road improvement plan, the state only operates one year in advance.  Additional transportation dollars that are secured through other means, including the federal government often operate under a "use it or lose it" mentality and don't allow for long-term coordination.

Spring Breakers: Have you checked to see if your passport is expired?

  • US Senator Richard Durbin at (312) 353-4952
  • 8th District Congressman Joe Walsh at (847) 973-9341
  • 10th District Congressman Robert Dold at (847) 940-0202
