Diane O'Keefe, Deputy Director of Highways for the Illinois Department of Transportation, will be at a Public Open House meeting to listen to suggestions for road project ideas for State Road improvements in Lake County on Tuesday, January 26, 2010.

This is an opportunity for the public to provide input directly to the Department of Transportation regarding future State Road and intersection improvements.

If you are unable to attend but would like your voice heard, please email me at alawlor@lakecountyil.gov and I will make sure a copy of your email is submitted to the Deputy Director.

I am assured the public will have an opportunity to provide comments.
Know Your PIN

Illinois property owners will have to know their property index number (PIN) when completing their personal income tax form this year, if they are requesting a property tax credit. After listing the total amount of Illinois property tax paid during tax year for real estate (Section 4A), taxpayers will be asked to provide their PIN number. This number can be found on your assessment notice or tax bill. You can view your property tax bill  on the County website.

You can also find your PIN by visiting the County's websiteand clicking on "Know Your PIN" under Quick Links, and then entering your address.

Print Prescription Drug Card

Many of you have taken advantage of the prescription drug card.  I would love for you to contact me to let me know if it has saved you money.

County residents can take advantage of a prescription drug discount card program.  The free card that is accepted at most pharmacies offers average savings of 20 percent off the retail price of commonly prescribed drugs.  This is intended for people without prescription coverage or on medicines not covered by your plan.  The card may also be used where accepted to fill prescriptions for pets.  To receive a card, click here.
