Help Us Before He Falls and Can't Get Up! My 90-year-old father still wishes to maintain his independence and live in his home alone. His mind is sharp as a tack, but his body a bit wobbly. He has agreed to wear a fall monitoring device. There are tons out there and we would love to know which one is the best. Have you had any experience that you can share regarding this type of device? Thanks!
Roll the Dice Our non-profit association is considering a Casino Night for a fundraiser. Has anyone done a similarly themed event, and can provide suggestions, helpful hints, comments, or other words of advice? Any feedback would be most appreciated. Thank you!

Introducing the Unofficial JustAskBoo Book ClubFrom Team JAB
Boy, do you JABBERS love to read (and have great taste in literature, by the way)! The response we received when we asked for your summer reading recommendations was so big, that we're sharing your favorite books in a three-part series. The first set of JAB-approved novels is at the bottom of today's newsletter, and the rest will be shared in the coming weeks. Happy Reading!
Eat Better Today, Feel Better Tomorrow
From Laura Smeenge: REPLY On your quest to get bikini-ready, exercise is just half of the equation. Eating better is easier than you think if you can make a few subtle changes. First, focus on balancing your calories. Enjoy all the foods you love - just enjoy less of them. Avoid oversized portions - everything in moderation! Next, increase fresh fruits and vegetables - fill up half your plate from this food group before moving on to anything else. Finally, cut out sodium (pay attention to the amount found in soup, bread and frozen meals) and bump up your water intake. To learn how I can help customize a nutritional plan and workout for you, call 561.346.9584 or click HERE.*
It's Just Like Riding a Bike
From Cara Pregadio: REPLY They say you never forget how to ride a bike . . . we'd like to put that old adage to the test. My crew is looking to restore some balance to our lives through family bike rides. We're looking for a gently used girls and adult mountain bikes. We would consider beach cruisers as well. If you have any you are no longer using and are interested in selling them, please Reply above. Thanks!

Where Can I Buy a Nintendo 64?
From Dianne Schmidt: REPLY My son grew up playing Nintendo 64 and I would love to surprise him with a console, controllers and games for his dorm room when he goes to college this fall. Please let me know if you have one that you would like to sell or if you know where I can purchase one. Thank you!

Online Storefront Needs Marketing & Administrative Help
From Michele Hakemian: REPLY I'm looking for someone with a marketing eye, perhaps a college student, to help me with my online storefront. Tasks include working with Photoshop, uploading new images to the website, sending out email blasts to our contact list, and administering our Facebook page to interact with our fans through specials, contests, etc. Basically, someone who can help me grow my business! Please Reply above with your experience and interest. Thank you!*

Do You Juice?
From Rachel McManus: REPLY I am gradually migrating to an all-vegetarian diet. I am finding it hard to get all the veggies I need, so I'm interested in getting a juicer. I would love recommendations for juicers and really good juicing books. There are a million out there, and I don't want to waste my money on a book that requires too many hard-to-find ingredients. Thanks!

Guess What Baby Camden's Been Up To?
From Team JAB
Time for an update on Baby Camden and his twin brother Nolan. Following his three-month hospital stay resulting from open-heart surgery and many complications, Cam was in and out of the hospital a bit more in April. He's been home for the past month and despite a few fevers, he is doing great. Mom (and JABBER) Elyse Schwartz just shared that he is actually eating baby food! This is a major milestone for Cam, after being intubated so many times in the hospital. A recent echo also showed that he didn't have any fluid around his heart. These are major, significant improvements for this tough little Palm Beach Gardens baby. You can follow Camden's progress HERE; please keep this sweet guy and his family in your thoughts and prayers, JABBERS!
Help Us Grow
My child is very growth deficient and needs human growth hormone replacement therapy. Has anyone had experience with this? What brand/medication is best? What are the side effects? I would love to talk to someone who is knowledgeable about this. Thank you very much.

Wood Kitchen Cabinets Need Refinishing
Help! My kitchen cabinets are in need of some refinishing, new varnish and top coat etc... They are made of excellent wood and I'd hate to throw them out. Can you please recommend someone reasonable and good? I do not want a laminate put over them. Thanks!

At Small Fish Big Fish, we take both those worries off your list. Host your party in our 1,000 square foot indoor pool conveniently located in West Palm Beach. Our trained staff with lifeguard the swim and ensure safe play using our games, races and fun pool toys. Parents can relax as they watch the action from our air-conditioned viewing room. Make My Mornings Better
I am eight weeks pregnant and have been experiencing all-day nausea every day for the past three weeks. I am in search of anything that can help. I've tried ginger gum, ginger ale, crackers, plenty of sleep, fluids, etc. Is there anything you can recommend that has worked to stop the nausea? Thank you!

Forgotten Faces of India by Jeanette Denkerova
Recommended By: Ashley Schutz
I was thrilled when JABBER Jeanette Denkerova offered to send me the book she wrote about her experiences volunteering at an Indian orphanage. Her story was more inspiring than I ever could have imagined: growing up in the Czech Republic, Jeanette was an international model who always felt she had a higher calling. In the midst of a tragic family health crisis, she set off to India and was transported to a totally different world. She's lived in Boca Raton for the past 15 years and is currently studying for a doctoral degree in Psychology. Proceeds from her book go back to the Indian orphanage to which she has dedicated so much of her time, money and passion. Order HERE.

"I used to work with Eleanor. She is not only a fabulous writer but a great person," JABBER Elizabeth shares. The only thing they have in common is the discovery that life was not to be what any of them expected. Order HERE. |
