Greetings!

A recent article in the St. Paul Pioneer press highlighted future trends in education regarding the post secondary enrollment options. Happily, as we have always been since our inception in 1997, CVA is on the cutting edge of educational developments.   As you probably know, many colleges will currently allow high achieving students to enroll in dual credit college courses. That is, take courses that count for both college and high school credit.  As college tuition continues to increase drastically, the ability to gain college credit paid for by the state is a significant help to most students.  The current set up, however, limits this opportunity to only the top students.

Here at CVA one big aspect of our High School to College Program (which continues to grow) is to prepare and support all students so that they can participate in these great enrollment options.  We plan to help students evaluate which courses will help them meet their career goals, help them get signed up, and support them with individual mentoring and a cohort of fellow students to make sure that all who want to participate can do so, and can experience success.   Plans are being made to include AP coursework next year as well as other expansions of the program. More news on those developments as they are launched!

Re-Enrollment Time!

For families whose children will be returning to CVA next year, our reenrollment window is now open.  Current families have preference for next year's placement, and siblings have priority over new families.

Enrollment will be open to the public via lottery on March 1st for any spots still unfilled by current CVA families.
Enrollment forms have been placed in student mailboxes, or you can click here to download and print the form.

Forms should be returned to Dominique or Melissa in the front office.

Lunch Prices have Changed!

Monday and Tuesday deli lunch prices have changed. Due to higher food and operation costs, Highland Café has to increase their prices. Lunch is now $4.00 for either a sandwich with chips and a cookie or soup with chips and a cookie. These prices took effect January 1st. If you have any questions feel free to email Dominique Thank you for your understanding.  Pizza Wednesdays are still $3 for 1 slice or $5 for two and the milk price remains at $0.15.

Winter Conferences

It is winter conference time! Parent/teacher conferences will be held Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, January 18th-20th. Tuesday is a regular on-campus day

Conference times will be scheduled in one hour blocks

Wednesday - 7:30 am - 2:30 pm

Thursday - 9:00 am -  4:00 pm

Friday - 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Students will be working online at home on these days- there will be no classes held at school on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday and there will be no Study Center available on these days.

If you received an e-mail requesting a conference, please contact the school office to schedule one. If you received an e-mail stating that staff do not require a conference with your family, please know that you may still schedule a conference time if you would like to meet with your child's teachers.

All families are welcome to request a conference time by emailing Melissa. Please check your student's grade book in Moodle to see how they are progressing in all of their classes.

Conference Snacks

Interested in showing your appreciation for Cyber Village Academy teachers and staff? We are seeking finger-foods and snacks to have available for staff during parent teacher conferences, January 18th-20th. Baked goods, dips and chips or crackers, fruits and veggies, or anything else you can think of would be greatly appreciated! If you would like to set up a crock-pot with a warm item, we can do that as well. If you can bring your item to the school on Wednesday morning, that is preferred. However, if you are not able to come to CVA on Wednesday but have a conference scheduled later that week and can bring your food item during your conference time, that is just fine. If you have a Tupperware or crock pot that you would like returned, please label the item with your name so that we can return it to you. Please contact Melissa in the office if you have any questions. Thank you!
