Tuesday will be one busy day here at FSU. FSU's InterFraternity Council hosts a Cornhole Tournament, then FSU welcomes freshmen with free stuff at this event exclusively for them.

Celebrate the beginning of a new year with a free campus picnic for FSU students, faculty & staff. Then, we'll wind down the evening while kicking it up a notch with Thick as Thieves concert in the Lane University Center Alice R. Manicur Assembly Hall hosted by FSU's InterFraternity Council.
Wednesday begins our 3-day poster sale. Then, University Programming Council will host First Night Frostburg features Hypnotist Gabe Holmes.

 BOLLYWOOD FESTIVAL BEYOND THE STAGE

FREE outdoor festival includes activities centered around the use of color in the culture of India including bead and jewelry, rangoli sand design posters, sidewalk chalk design, finger painting wall art, temporary henna tattoos, a Bhangra dance class highlighted by a large screen projection and food and drink selections with an Indian flair. And this is all before the band begins to play.

 RED BARAAT Monday, August 27 Bollywood Festival begins * 6:30 PM Performance * 7:30 PM FSU Clocktower Quad It's a Bhangra dance party on the campus of Frostburg State University and you are invited! Come shake your hips to the exhilarating music of Red Baraat, which the Chicago Reader has called "fun as hell." Led by masterful dhol drummer Sunny Jain, Red Baraat's riveting sound and stage presence create an unforgettable experience for the audience. Comprised of dhol (a double-sided, barrelshaped North Indian drum slung over one shoulder), drum set, percussion, sousaphone and five horns, Red Baraat melds the infectious North Indian rhythms of Bhangra with the sounds of funk, go-go, Latin and jazz. Since their inception in October 2008, Red Baraat has delivered powerful performances at globalFEST, Montreal Jazz Festival, Chicago World Music Festival, Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center and the New Orleans Jazz Festival, to name just a few. This FREE outdoor performance begins with a Bollywood Festival featuring food, activities and dance inspired by the culture of India. According to the National Public Radio program "All Songs Considered," it's "a crazy blast of fun." Come meet with the artists of Red Baraat to learn all about their riotous, joyous blend of music that fuses multiple cultures to create a true party of a performance. This tour engagement of Red Baraat is funded through the Mid Atlantic Tours program of Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation with support from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Maryland State Arts Council. The Cultural Events Series is supported by a grant from the Maryland State Arts Council, an agency dedicated to cultivating a vibrant cultural community where the arts thrive, and is sponsored in part by the Allegany Arts Council with funds from the Maryland State Arts Council. New Room Scheduling Software

Frostburg State has implemented a new room scheduling software called EMS to schedule rooms across campus for events and meetings. This new system ushers in several new policy changes. Please review the new policy on room reservations and the new rates for facilities.
Just a quick point of clarification - the log in for this system is not linked to your FSU account. If you have not used this system before, you will have to create an account before you can log into the system. To create an account, please click the "Create an account" link under the "My account" tab at the top of the screen. Mac users will need Parallels installed to access EMS.
