"A CELTIC CHRISTMAS" Thursday, 12/8, 7:30 PM FSU Performing Arts Center, Pealer Recital Hall $3 for FSU Students
Experience the joy and warmth of an Irish Christmas when the delightful master storyteller Tomáseen Foley returns to Frostburg. "A Celtic Christmas" combines storytelling, traditional dance and live music, and features a cast of award-winning artists performing in the Celtic tradition. Foley will be joined onstage by the prodigious and creative Irish dancer, Marcus Donnelly; internationally acclaimed master of the steel-string guitar, William Coulter; Brian Bigley on uilleann pipes, whistles and flute; and vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and world champion Irish dancer, Marianne Knight.

The Sloop Institute for Excellence in Leadership is an eye opening leadership opportunity. This Institute will teach the participants an innovative way to look at leadership and how they can better themselves as student leaders. This is an institute for anyone looking to better their leadership skills no matter what type of position they already hold. Participants will also have an opportunity to meet and speak with alumni of Frostburg State University and see how they are using leadership in their professional careers. The Sloop Institute for Excellence in Leadership is an experiential learning experience that you will not want to miss.
The Sloop Institute for Excellence in Leadership will be held March 2-3, 2012 at the Bedford Springs Resort. This event is open by nomination process from a faculty or staff member at Frostburg State University that are Sophomore and Junior standing and have leadership potential. The Deadline for Applications is Friday December 16, 2011.

Student of the Week Robert Brett
Robert Brett, '13 Business Administration and Theatre double major, works for the Lane Center Tech Crew. He enjoys setting up events and is an enthusiastic worker, always seeking out the next task. Of Robert, Lane Center director Rob Webber says, "I wish I had 10 more just like him." From Waldorf, Robert wants to pursue an MBA after graduation. He says, "[working at Lane Center] is giving me experience leading people."
