Want a Pet? Scared of the Long-Term Commitment? Try the Foster Program!
The Allegany County Animal Shelter has a "Semester Foster" program which allows off-campus students to enjoy the companionship of an animal without the long-term commitment. Students will house the animal for the duration of the semester, but then they have the option to adopt the pet or to return it to the shelter. It allows the animal to benefit from the socialization, training and being in a home environment away from the Shelter. During the semester, fosters will be invited to attend various shelter events with their fosters - fundraisers, adoption events, community events, etc. The shelter will also work with fosters to provide any necessary training and guidance.
For further information, stop by the Shelter's information table on September 8, 2011 between the hours of 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. in front of the FSU clock tower.

TRAINING
FSU recently purchased a new software for student organizations call OrgSync. This system will help students manage their organizations. Each organization will receive its own portal that will help each group communicate more effectively with its members and other FSU organizations. This software will enable each group to register their organization online. In preparation for the launch of this system, student organizations are required to send one representative from their organization to attend a block training session on the features of the software and how it will aid each organization. Advisors and students are encouraged to attend. Training dates are as followed:
Wednesday, September 7
10:00am, 11:15am, 1:00pm, 2:15pm, 3:30pm, and 4:45pm
