SPOTLIGHTONLINE
YOUR GUIDE TO CAMPUS EVENTS & OPPORTUNITIES

November 28 - December 3, 2010

Greetings!

I hope that you enjoyed your Thanksgiving Holiday as much as I did. We all have so many things to be thankful for. Besides attending a school that cares so much about you, I hope that you are thankful for the family and friends that you have. I know that I am thankful for all of you and want to see you succeed! With that said there are only 3 weeks left in the semester so remember to stay strong in your classes and that we are all here to help each other!

Get out there, get involved and finish the semester STRONG!

Kathy Mattea, the two-time Grammy Award-winner and twice-named Country Music Association's Female Vocalist of the Year, brings the sounds of the holiday season to the FSU campus. After winning a Grammy for "Good News," her first collection of Christmas songs, Mattea followed up with the critically acclaimed "Joy for Christmas Day." With close to 30 Top 40 country hits, Mattea's beautiful voice is the perfect match for her holiday tunes, which are a blend of old favorites and new songs in various musical styles. According to Mattea, a native of South Charleston, W.Va., her holiday concerts are "more about the spiritual side of Christmas, and not so much about the holiday." The result is a concert that focuses on the reverence and joy of the Christmas celebration.

"While songs can be many things, they cannot be given life without a singer. ... In Mattea's instrument, the grains of truth add up to something incalculable: high art." - All Music Guide
