Bayanihan
Bayanihan is an ancient Filipino word meaning "patriotism or love of country." Since its creation in 1957, the Bayanihan Philippine National Dance Company has been working to educate audiences on the cultural traditions and folklore of the Philippines through dazzling theatrical presentations and traditional music. Now, the company will bring its unique presentation to Mountain Maryland. Their extravagant dances require a combination of precise movement, balance and skill from its company members. Everything from the music to the choreography to the lighting to the costumes is intricately planned to show homage and patriotism to the motherland. It's a cultural experience that transcends borders and is both entertaining and emotional.

NOLA Bead SortingAlternative Break Trip Meeting
Friday
November 5 2010
4:00-5:00 PM
Dunkle Hall 218

On Friday, November 5th in Dunkle Hall 218 the Office of Leadership & Civic Engagement will be holding an informational meeting about Alternative Breaks from 4-5 pm and will be offering FREE PIZZA for all who attend. This year we have exciting news for those interested in going on an alternative break. Not only has our office partnered with the Leadership Minor to offer students 1-4 academic credits for their experience, but we also have money to help pay for trips! Our office will serve as a resource for where students could go, best practices for these trips, and we'll be highlighting the structure for how leadership is incorporated into these vital experiences. Our ultimate goal is to help individuals, student organizations and their advisers to thrive by ensuring this opportunity is based around the essential components of a successful experience: a predeparture orientation, training, reflection, and a reorientation once they come back.

SO COME OUT, LEARN MORE, AND GET ACTIVE!!!
