Jerry Garcia August West Original Drawing
Your offer(s) should cover the
Ink on paper, signed lower right.
$24,000
It
is unusual for the artist to refer to the Grateful Dead in his visual
art; this is one exception. The subject is the wino in the song "Wharf
Rat". It's curious that the lyrics refer to August West, that being
the name of a chimney sweep in Dickens' Oliver Twist. If anyone has a
theory, we'd like to know it. Richly drawn and detailed down to the
corrugated rims of his sneakers. $24,000 for further information contact Roberta Weir weir@well.com 510/282-898
