Dog Days of Summer at Houmas House
Princess Grace Kelly and her pups awaiting coffee service. |
At Houmas House Plantation the phrase "dog days of summer" has a different meaning. The Royal Children, three yellow Labradors, exhibit a playful and excited behavior to celebrate the summer season. Whether they are swimming in one of the three lily ponds, lounging in the shaded gardens, or being mischievous inside the mansion, they are sure to entertain all who meet them.
Although we don't encourage our guests to swim in the lily ponds, we do love to see them frolicking in our gardens, sipping mint juleps under the oaks, and enjoying our historic mansion.
Stepping on the grounds of Houmas House instantly removes all your cares and transforms you to a slower, simpler time. You will soon long for the dog days of summer......or at least the kind we have at Houmas House Plantation.
