With help from our new friends at Craftsy, Quick-Stitch, the challenge will debut at ASE this September. Over the three days of the expo there will be seven - 75 minute live sewing challenges with up to 5 contestants per challenge.

Planned for Sunday afternoon is the Quick-Stitch, Stitch-Off where the winner of each of the 7 previous challenges will compete in a two hour challenge to be the 2012 Quick-Stitch Champion.

Mickey Hudson

While operating her custom clothing business, Mickey started teaching beginners to sew and loved it so much has now has progressed to teaching all skill levels. Becoming a Certified Islander Sewing Systems instructor has garnered her the nickname, "Shortcut Queen". Those who see her work are amazed at how little time it took her to get such professional results. The Islander Sewing System uses the same professional techniques used in the garment industry. No pins, no basting, no kidding! Mickey has written for Threads Magazine and teaches each year at the American Sewing Expo. It is her quest to put the JOY back in sewing for everyone she teaches!

May 5 - 13, 2013
The dates are set, the hotel is booked and we have already begun to plan the fashion sewing trip of a lifetime just for you!
Join other sewing enthusiasts as we tour NYC, visit designers' workrooms, costume makers, see a Broadway play, shop for fabrics, leathers, trims, buttons and sew much more....!
To learn more about how you can be one of the lucky 20 who join us on the 2013 tour click the picture above.
This tour took all the fears of visiting a big city away. With Marsha and Marla guiding us on to the correct subway or bus we visited the inner sanctums of designers, wholesale fabric houses, found little niche fabric shops. We cruised around Manhattan island and dined very well. I just wish I could have done this 40 years ago but I experienced it in this lifetime. Don't put this trip off!! Cherry Delaney
