Greetings!
 
We are bursting at the seams with exciting news for the 2012 American Sewing Expo in Novi, Michigan. The 3 day expo with shopping and seminars will run September 28 - 30th with all day hands-on workshops Wednesday and Thursday September 26th and 27th.

In this edition of Swatches I want to whet your appetite with just two topics on the 2012 American Sewing Expo.


1. ASE is excited and privileged to be hosting the Association of Sewing and Design Professional (ASDP) annual conference. This conference will take place simultaneously with ASE. 

ASDP will bring some of their most talented members to educate and inspire us with fabulous fashion sewing and couture classes. Another ASDP event not to be missed is the Friday evening fashion show that includes amazing garments created by their members, some of which are part of the annual ASDP challenge by Threads Magazine.

2. The 2012 ASE contests are:
  • The sixth annual Passion for Fashion sewing and design challenge sponsored by Baby Lock 
  • Innovation Generation sewing challenge for ages 8 to 18 sponsored by Coats  
  • Out of the Box Challenge (make a quick gift) sponsored by American & Efird

Welcome ASDP!

"Now you really can be in two places at once"

ASE is proud to announce the Association of Sewing and Design Professionals' (ASDP) Annual Conference will be held at the American Sewing Expo this fall.

ASDP has an annual conference every fall where they conduct classes, contests and fashion shows. We are very excited  to be hosting the ASDP conference during the American Sewing Expo in Novi, Michigan September 26 - 30, 2012.

Along with ASE workshops held on September 26 & 27 ASDP will provide 4 - two day hands-on fashion sewing and couture workshops and1 - one day workshop. This talented group will also present a very special fashion show on Friday evening..

Registration information for all of the workshops and the fashion show will be listed in the ASE registration brochure due out on the website in mid June and in print form in early July. Registration begins July 17, 2012.
