In today's "I'm Super Busy" 24x7 world it's almost impossible to get our end users off the systems long enough to do the proper maintenance we know needs to be done. Not to mention with year-end around the corner all the new applications that need to go online in January. This can be a stressful time. So unfortunately for many of us in I.T. the holidays aren't typically our time to relax, it's our time to get caught up on systems maintenance, transition new applications, etc. Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, off to work we go...

  Being this is inevitable for many of us, try to make the best of it by making a simple To Do list focusing on only the systems, devices and applications that absolutely can only be worked on during these holiday offline periods, and only those. If something can be done during your regular maintenance cycle or any old weekend, scratch it off the list and save it for another time. With a little planning before the holidays you might actually get to enjoy some them. Life's short and it's just as important for you to relax and enjoy yourself during the holidays as anyone else.

  So for all you I.T. folks out there, have a Happy Thanksgiving Holiday!
