That's a very true statement for a lot of things but when it comes to data storage and firmware updates, we recommend at the very least you review the release notes to decide if an upgrade is for you or not.
In many cases errors can develop over time and may not occur until certain circumstances or events occur, like a disk drive failing or when you upgrade to a newer operating system (or patch). Technology never stops and maintaining compatibility with all the changes in your environment takes work. That being said, please take a look at the latest firmware available for your TRITON RAID system.
The easiest way to upgrade is to download the firmware files from our support web site and upload them to your TRITON array via the web interface. This should be done during your maintenance schedule as a restart of the RAID system will be required (since it is single controller). |

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As you probably know, all SurfRAID TRITON RAID systems come with Next Business Day Advance Replacement for the 1st year. This covers the replacement of any or all items in your RAID system from a simple disk drive or power supply to replacing the entire array if necessary, next business day (2 days worst case depending on shipping cutoff times or if you are outside the lower 48 states). XSWAP, as we call it, also includes expedited freight service to you as well.
Most clients upgrade their service level to 3 years when purchasing their array, since it costs less to do this up front. Up to 5 years is available at initial purchase but we offer support for most models for much longer than 5 years.
We appreciate you renewing your maintenance because it allows our engineers to help you the best way they possibly can when you need it. They can send you whatever you need without hassles, no additional costs, no delays, getting you back up and running as quickly as possible. This makes them look good and makes you look good.
