Pancake Breakfast

Come One and Come All to the Annual Pancake Breakfast with Bake Sale and Silent Auction on Saturday, April 2nd from 7:00 to 11:00 AM. Sponsored by the Fowl River Area Civic Association the Pancake Breakfast is $5 for adults and $2 for children 10 and under and includes pancakes, sausage, orange juice and coffee.
All proceeds will go to maintain the Fowl River Community House located at 5401 Fowl River Road.

Alabama Cruises is offering their annual Easter Breakfast Cruise aboard the Southern Belle. The 2 hour cruise is $35.00 per person and will depart from the Bellingrath Gardens Riverfront Pavillion at 8:00 a.m. The menu includes ham, grits, eggs, biscuits, sausage, bacon, fruit and pastries. Running for St. Jude - Your Legs Can Save Lives
April 10 at 8:30 AM
Bellingrath will host the 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run presented by St. Jude on the Bay to benefit St. Jude's Children's Hospital. All of the proceeds will help support the more than 70 children receiving treatment for serious illness at St. Jude's Hospital. Immediately following the race there will be light refreshments for all participants and the Gardens will open for visitors to tour.

Saturday, April 16 from 9 AM to 12 PM

On Saturday, April 16 we will have our annual Easter Egg Hunt on The Great Lawn. Thousands of Easter Eggs will be all over The Great Lawn for children to discover. There will be plenty of candy and treats for kids of all ages. Registration for the Easter Egg Hunts will begin at 9:00 a.m. on The Great Lawn. Children may participate in one of three Egg Hunts depending on their age:
- Age 3 and under: There will be a continuous Easter Egg Hunt from 9:00 - 10:30.
- Age 4-6: Easter Egg Hunt from 10:00 - 10:15.
- Age 7-11: Easter Egg Hunt from 10:15 - 10:30.
Education students from the University of South Alabama will provide games and craft projects on Live Oak Plaza throughout the morning from 9:00 - noon. The Bellingrath Café will have a special snack area on Live Oak Plaza with all sorts of special Easter treats. A professional photographer will be available to take children's Easter Portraits with The Easter Bunny from 9:00 - noon. The Southern Belle River Cruiser will conduct cruises at 11:00 and 1:00.
The Easter Egg Hunt is opened to the public. Admission is free for members of the Friends of Bellingrath. Regular Gardens admission of $12.00 for adults and $6.50 for children ages 5-12 will be charged. Children under the age of 5 are always admitted free. |
Sunday, April 24 at 6:30 AM
As the sun rises over Bellingrath Gardens and Home on Easter Sunday, April 24, please come and enjoy a special Sunrise Service with friends and family on Live Oak Plaza between the Bellingrath Home and the Boehm Gallery. The service will begin at 6:30 a.m. and is opened to everyone in the community.
During the service an offering will be collected to benefit The Interfaith Hospitality Network - The Family Promise Ministry. The volunteer ushers and greeters are from the membership of Central Presbyterian Church and Dauphin Way United Methodist Church.
Complimentary admission will be given to guests from 6:00 a.m. until 8:00 a.m. on Easter Sunday. Chairs will be set up, but guests may bring their own chairs. A continental breakfast will be available in the Magnolia Café from 7:30-8:30 a.m. |
National Public Gardens Day
Friday, May 6
National Public Gardens Day is a national day of celebration to raise awareness of America's public gardens and their important role in promoting environmental stewardship and awareness, plant and water conservation, and education in communities nationwide. Bellingrath will offer discounted admission all day.
In support of National Public Gardens Day, Better Homes and Gardens is offering free admission to participating gardens on May 6, 2011. The coupon, which will be available for download from the BHG website (www.bhg.com) this month, will be valid for two admission tickets at all participating APGA member gardens on National Public Gardens Day only.
Also, join the Friends of Bellingrath or renew an existing membership and get a free one-year subscription to Better Homes and Gardens. The offer is valid until September 30, 2011.

Mother's Day Evening Garden Concert Sunday, May 8 at 5:30 p.m.
Bellingrath Gardens and Home is happy to welcome The Mobile Symphony Youth Orchestra and their conductor, Rob Seebacher for the Annual Mother's Day Concert Orchestra on Sunday, May 8th at 5:30 p.m. This year's concert will be held on Live Oak Plaza between the Bellingrath Home and the Boehm Gallery. Enjoy the Gardens and Home throughout the afternoon and then gather at 5:30 for the late afternoon concert.
Bring your own picnic, or pre-order a picnic box supper and a beverage that you may pick up as you arrive at Live Oak Plaza. You may reserve a table for 4 or for 6 to enjoy your supper and the music. A table for 4, which includes table, chairs and a table covering is $15.00; a table for 6 is $20.00. There are a limited number of tables available, so please make your table reservations early. The box dinners are $10.00 per person.
Box Supper Options - Provided by Atlanta Bread Company 
Option #1: Turkey Bacon Rustica on Ciabatta Bread - Turkey, Bacon, Provolone, Lettuce, Tomato and Red Onion with Sun-dried Tomato Pesto Spread. Each box supper will also include chips, cookie and a beverage.
Option #2: Chicken Waldorf on Asiago Focaccia Bread - Chicken Salad made with Dried Cranberries, Granny Smith Apples, Walnuts, Lettuce, Tomato, Red Onion and Mayonnaise. Each box supper will include chips, cookie and a beverage.
Seating will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own lawn chairs. Everyone is invited to an ice cream social on the South Terrace, adjacent to Live Oak Plaza, immediately following the concert.
The free concert is included in your admission to Bellingrath Gardens. Beginning at 4:00 p.m. on Mother's Day, admission will be reduced to $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for children ages 5-12. Children under the age of 5 are always admitted free.
