Scenic Byway
Alabama's Coastal Connection is one of 151 designated National Scenic Byways. Alabama's Coastal Connection takes visitors through southern Mobile and Baldwin Counties and includes attractions such as Bellingrath Gardens and Home, The Estuarium at Dauphin Island Sea Lab, Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge, Baldwin Heritage Museum and Weeks Bay Natural Estuarine Reserve. Suggested itineraries on the route invite visitors to connect with nature, connect with land and sea, connect with the past and connect with each other. This is a collaborative effort by the Bayou La Batre Chamber of Commerce, the Dauphin Island Chamber of Commerce, the Alabama Gulf Coast Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Foley Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce. A Summer Garden Walk with Barbara Smith

A favorite program every year! Barbara will lead this tour of the Gardens and describe how she designs the beautiful borders and containers for this summer's display.
Wonderful Wednesday programs will be held rain or shine. In the event of rain, guests are invited to meet Barbara in the Magnolia Cafe.

Cool Container Gardens for Hot Summer Months

See how Melanie Lobel, Landscape Designer at Zimlich's Patio & Garden, creates fabulous container gardens. Bring your own container and make one to take home! Soil & plant material will be provided. Containers can be purchased in the Bellingrath Gift Shop.

Lost Gardens of Mobile

A look at some of Mobile's spectacular gardens lost to progress over the years with Bellingrath Museum Curator, Tom McGehee. Included is the Bellingrath's azalea garden formerly at 60 South Ann Street which was the inspiration for Mobile's Azalea Trail.

Cascade Mums

By popular demand; Horticulturist and Nursery Manager Chuck Owens, will share Bellingrath's secrets for creating this beautiful floral display. We will share plants with those that are interested in trying to grow their own cascading Mum.
