Festival of Flowers
 "Stand By Me"
 Festival of Flowers
The 17th Annual Festival of Flowers will take place on the Providence Hospital Campus from Thursday, March 25 - Sunday, March 28.  You will not want to miss the beautiful gardens, the Designer Tablescapes, the World of Flowers display or the Marketplace of Shops.

As always, Bellingrath Gardens and  Home will be well represented at the show.  The display garden will feature a central pool and fountain surrounded by an array of spring flowers.  Bellingrath's fabulous Gift Shop will have a booth in the Festival Marketplace, too. Make a weekend of it... spend a day at the Festival and a day at Bellingrath Gardens and Home.  For information about special group packages to attend both, contact Shanna Bennett at 251.973.2217 X 163 or bellingrath@bellingrath.org

How to Achieve A Heaven on Earth
Book Signing
March 14, 2010 Heaven on Earth

Last spring Dr. Bill Barrick, Bellingrath's Executive Director, was invited to submit an essay describing how gardens help create  ... "a heaven on  earth".    Gardens have always been an inspiration for Dr. Barrick and he has spent most of his professional career creating gardens to inspire others.  He submitted his essay, Creating Gardens of Paradise, and thought that he would never be included with such luminaries as Ted Turner, Al Gore, Thomas L. Friedman, George Bush and Barack Obama.  Much to his surprise and delight - his essay was selected for John E. Wade's latest book project.

"How To Achieve A Heaven on Earth" is a collection of essays from 101 contributors that encourages readers to find meaning in their lives and share it with others to make the world a better place.  The Editor John E. Wade, II lives in New Orleans and is a writer, investor, philanthropist and founder of the nonprofit organization Soldiers of Love.

Please come meet Mr. Wade and other contributors - including our own Bill Barrick on Sunday, March 14 from 2:00-4:00 in Gift Shop at Bellingrath Gardens and Home.   Books are available for purchase in the Gift Shop.
