 CAMELLIA
Camellia sansanqua

Camellia sasanqua is one of the most popular camellia species. It typically blooms in the fall and winter of each year and provides a  garden with a stunning display.  Camellias are very easy to grow and each variety  has varying growth, blooming and other desirable characteristics.

Camellia colors include white, pink, red, and mixtures. Some have suggested that red and red-and-white camellias represent the state, matching the red and white of the Alabama flag.
