Graphic of puzzle piecesFaster fiber speeds, new rates for providers approved

To make sure retail service providers have the fastest offerings, and to improve revenue for Chelan County PUD's fiber-optic program, PUD commissioners adopted new wholesale rates and raised the speed of Internet services that local vendors will have available for their customers.

Faster speeds are already available and service providers will determine what rates to charge their customers for the faster options. Customers interested in connecting at the faster speeds need to contact their service provider to check on price and availability.

The Chelan River Gorge Reach 1 Trail takes walkers on a 4.5-mile round-trip route from the Riverwalk Loop Trail in downtown Chelan to Reach 1 of the Chelan River (the uppermost section of the 4-mile river that flows down to join the Columbia River at Chelan Falls). Along the way, watch for interpretive signs and benches at several scenic overlooks.

This trail was built by the PUD as part of its federal license to operate the Chelan Dam and is open year-round.
