Linemen compete to support scholarships 
The best power linemen and apprentices around will test their skills 45-feet in the air at the sixth annual Andrew York Lineman Rodeo on Saturday, June 19. Opening ceremonies at 8 a.m. are followed by competition at 8:30 a.m. in Wenatchee's Walla Walla Point Park. The memorial event has raised more than $14,000 in scholarships for high school seniors active in preventing teen drug and alcohol abuse and honors Chelan County PUD journeyman lineman Andrew York who died in 2000 from injuries suffered on the job when he was hit by a drunken driver.
