Different Children Different Needs |
Help parents, teachers, counselors and pastors understand that each child has a unique design. It is the responsibility of adults to adapt their style rather than expecting children to respond to the adult's perspective. This book improves skills in adaptive parenting and teaching and helps the reader to understand how to encourage and direct children.

Reflection and Preparation |
We are approaching the end of the 08-09 school year. The field trips and field days are over. We will be cleaning up the office or classroom and looking forward to calmer days. This is a time that we may reflect on the past year. There will be thoughts that make us smile and situations that make us cringe. Believe it or not, the 09-10 school year will be here before you know it! How can we better handle the stress of each day? Between assessment scores, data analysis, reduction in staff and resources, classroom management, let alone teach, what's an educator to do? 1) Understand yourself and your personality style. What is your best environment? What do you need physically and emotionally to be your best? 2) Understand others. There are people around you with different personalities and different needs as well. 3) Adapt. When we understand the needs of other personality styles we can adapt to meet their needs to help them feel understood, valued and appreciated. 4) Reduce stress, increase productivity and enjoy relationships with our staff, students and families. Whether there is stress within your team, in your classroom or in your home, understanding and knowing how to adapt to meet the needs of others will allow you to reduce conflict and develop better relationships all around. People may forget what you say... People may forget what you do... People will NOT forget how you make them feel. Understanding personalities and predictable patterns of human behavior equips you with the "tools" help you connect with others to make them feel valued and understood. Teaching Our Youth provides fun and informative professional development workshops with skills and strategies for immediate application. These sessions address: educational team building, classroom behavior management (facilitated with Love and LogicŪ skills), differentiated instruction as well as parent enrichment. Call or visit www.teachingouryouth.com for workshops and objectives. Create an environment where the staff and students feel understood, valued and appreciated and truly look forward to each day with you! Click on "Better Relationships" for a complimentary, 4 part, e-learning course on how to adapt to the needs of others, even in our more difficult relationships.

with Teaching Our Youth
We want to thank you for your commitment to education. Your decision years ago to get into this education may have been stimulated by your heart felt desire to lead and work with children, inspire people to do amazing things, help kids to learn and move through life with confidence, or to teach accurate information. Whatever originally motivated you, I am sure you have been met with many challenges that your training and education did not prepare you for.

Relational Education Dynamics
Facilitator Certification Training
August 19th and 20th
Weber Inn
Ann Arbor, Michigan
Our Facilitator Training program serves two valuable purposes:
One: The insights gained through this informative two day program will empower and encourage you in your awareness of your personality, communication and leadership style. You will start to understand your student's personalities, behavior and learning styles. You will sense your stress level reduce as you view a clearer understanding of the dynamics of your team and your classroom. You will begin to develop more successful strategies for working more effectively together with your staff and students.
Two: You will be equipped to take this information back to your team and small learning communities so that you can assist them in developing their own awareness and strategies for working with their students and each other. The benefit is that when we as a team understand these dynamics, we work better together and are able to collaborate more effectively to produce successful results.
These two informative and fun-filled days will be a time of learning and discovering new, simple, and effective strategies to be more productive in working with our students, our team, and ourselves.
You will be provided a complete manual that guides you on time frames, content, stories and activities to facilitate six workshops. These sessions will address: leadership, educational team building, differentiated instruction, as well as a parent enrichment session. You can add your own experiences and insights for a more personalized presentation. You will also receive a collection of resource books, and power points. If that was not enough, Karen and I will be your online coaches over the following three months to help you prepare your sessions or answer any questions you may have.
We provide reduced rates for schools sending leadership teams of two or more. Call or email us for details.
