 Stewardship 2013:
A Celebration of Generosity
"Stewardship 2013: A Celebration of Generosity" is this year's stewardship theme.
Please read a letter here from Bobsie Swift, on behalf of the Stewardship Committee.

Each week in the bulletin and Spiritual Adventures, until the Ingathering on Oct. 21, we will feature various ministries of the parish.
This week we focus on Worship and Music.
In addition, cottage meetings are continuing this week, and next. Thus far, the meetings have been a fun way to connect, and re-connect, with fellow parishioners.
If you have not responded to your invitation, please call Patty Slembarski at the church office (706-324-4264) so your hosts will know how many to expect. If the evening you are assigned is not convenient, Patty will be glad to offer you another time.
Pound portrait Bishop Alexander honored

Last Sunday, Bishop Neil Alexander, the ninth bishop of the Diocese of Atlanta, was honored for his 11 years of leadership at a Choral Evensong at the Cathedral of St. Philip. A reception afterward included the unveiling of a portrait by Columbus artist Garry Pound, a member of Trinity. Alexander is the new dean of The School of Theology at Sewanee: The University of the South. For more information, including photos from Sunday's events, click here.

Search committee named;
Michael Ankerich to chair

Fellow Parishioners,

I am pleased to make the announcement of the committee that will help our congregation find the Rector called to serve us in our next era. The Vestry met twice last week, prayed, and ultimately selected a cross-section of St. Thomas--a group of whom we can all be proud.

The chairman of the Search Committee will be Michael Ankerich. The members, in alphabetical order, are: Nicole Ceccato, Kathy France, Alex Gafford, Lynne Hahn, Jay Howell, Joe Mills, Robert Moore, Perrin Nicolson, Malinda Shamburger, Kristie Sholtis, Tom Wade, and Mary Jane Wadkins. These persons represent the broad ministries and interests of the congregation, and they bring to this task a great devotion to the welfare of the Church.

In the time leading up to the selection of this body, a number of parishioners approached the Vestry and volunteered to serve. I want to make a point of thanking everyone who offered to make such an unselfish commitment. The Vestry took note of all candidates, and collectively made our fairest effort to select a balanced, strong set of leaders.

Please share my gratitude to the Search Committee and give them support in the coming year.

Thanks be to God,

David Brandenburgh, Sr. Warden

pet blessing
 Blessing of the Animals
It's that time again! Every year, St. Thomas parishioners, as well as the wider community, look forward to blessing our pets. This year's event begins at 4 p.m. Sunday.
Mother Lorna Erixson will be on hand to give your pet a blessing or, if your pet is unable to come, she will bless a photo or a stuffed animal in its place.
As is customary, veterinarians will be on site to answer questions.
