Guardian Angel Program

All 33 of our active Episcokids have been paired with a Guardian Angel. For those angels that would like to leave little treats for their Episcokids, please place them on the tables in the back of the Narthex with the name of the child clearly marked. Remember our Episcokids and Guardian Angels in your prayers.

Bluegrass & BBQ was a Big Success!

What a party! Over 200 members and our community friends enjoyed BLUEGRASS & BBQ on Sunday night. If you gave items, bought a ticket, won an item in the Silent Auction, ate dinner, enjoyed the music of Debbie Anderson and the Pritchett family - we thank you! We did more than raise money and have fun--we welcomed the community in the name of Jesus Christ and on your behalf to our community of believers. I think it was hospitality at its finest!

Integrity to Meet Tomorrow, Friday, April 20LGBT Integrity

This is just a reminder that we will be having a production meeting for "Next Fall" at 6:30pm on Friday, April 20th. The regularly-scheduled Integrity Meeting will begin at 7:00pm. We will have three guest speakers from Auburn, AL, to discuss their accomplishments and the struggles they have overcome in trying to combine the Catholic Church and gay issues. They are Leslie Beard, Ralph Mirarchi, and Cindy Mirarchi. We will plan on going to dinner at about 8:00pm, following the meeting. This can be a great opportunity to further our networking with others to help encourage more GLBTs into our
group. We look forward to hearing from them and discussing some of the resources they have found to be helpful.

The meeting is at 7:00pm in All Saints' Hall, with dinner following at about 8:00pm. Hope to see you there!

Congratulations on the Engagement of
Fr. Darius Sudayi and Anna Jonas!

We are happy to pass on the news that Fr. Darius Sudayi is engaged. He is marrying Anna Jonas of Dodoma, after a seven-year courtship. Anna is an accountant with the Dodoma Christian Medical Center. Bishops Mdimi Mhogolo and Neal Alexander will be officiating the wedding on July 21, 2012.

Some have asked if there is a way to give wedding gifts.  Yes, the church will receive any funds for gifts and make sure they are forwarded to Darius and Anna.

Congratulations to them both, and our thoughts and prayers are with them for a happy and blessed life together.

Spotlight On: Henssey Ngo

Henssey Ngo, daughter of Drs. Henry and Nora Ngo, competed on the Brookstone tennis team that won first place in their region. This was the Lady Cougars' 41st straight region championship. Henssey won both her singles matches, and was highlighted in an article in the Ledger-Enquirer. Congratulations, Henssey!

Help Us Complete our Pledges to These Worthy CausesGenerosity

During Lent, St. Thomas Episcopal Church was raising funds for three worthy causes: the Friends of Finley honorarium, the Church of the Common Ground (an Atlanta ministry for the homeless), and Infusion (a CVEM youth ministry). We are pleased to report that we have raised about 70-80% toward the goals we set for each of these funds. We have raised $4165.59 for Friends of Finley; $707 for Church of the Common Ground; and $782 for Infusion.

We are eager to complete our pledges in full, and we encourage parishioners to continue their Lenten giving through the Easter season in order to achieve 100% of our goals.

Please contact the parish office to make a contribution. All checks may be made payable to St. Thomas Episcopal Church. Please indicate the ministry of your choice by writing it in the memo line of your check. Thank you for your continued generosity.

Friends of Finley Commission HonorariumOak Server

A group calling itself "Friends of Finley" has been formed to create an honorarium for Finley Williamson's innumerable contributions to St. Thomas. This group has approached the church, and received the blessings of the Property Committee and the Vestry. The honorarium will be a mission-style oak server (pictured), designed and built by artisan Rick Garner. Mr. Garner is asking a discounted price of $5000. To contribute to this project, please make your check payable to St. Thomas Episcopal Church, with the memo "Friends of Finley" written in the memo line of your check. Our goal is to have the project completed by Finley's birthday on June 10. Please note that this is not a gift TO Finley, but it is a gift to St. Thomas Episcopal Church IN HONOR OF Finley. It will be enjoyed by all parishioners for many years to come. Thank you.
