Adult Education Series on Homelessness Concludes with Special Events
CE

Sunday, March 25, 9:30 - 10:20 am - Our Sunday School series on homelessness in Columbus concludes with a discussion led by Christie Bevis, Executive director of HOME For Good: An Alliance to End Homelessness, with Kim Jenkins, Executive Director of Open Door, and Dr. Betty ("BJ") McBride, Director of Guidance Services, Muscogee Country School District. Kim will talk about what Open Door provides - particularly their showering program, and BJ will tell us about the 2200 children who are enrolled in school with no home!

Stations of the Cross for Homelessness:
Join us for a simple soup and sandwich lunch right after church in the parish hall. We will caravan to three sites that are associated with the homeless:
+ 1:00  Muscogee County Jail, Chaplain Neil Richardson our host.
+ 1:45  Emergency Department at The Medical Center, Babs McKnight and Ginger Smith will be our hosts.
+ 2:30  Potter's Field at East Porterdale Cemetery, Deborah Abrahms, Director of City Cemeteries, will be our host.

At each stop we will have a brief tour and scripture will be read and prayers said. Our field trip will conclude with Eucharist celebrated amongst the graves of the homeless in East Porterdale.

Easter Donations to St. Thomas
Lilies

Two of our most deserving funds - the Flower Fund and the Music Fund - are seeking monetary donations for Easter. Dedications may be made in honor, in memory, or in thanksgiving for an honoree whom you name. The minimum donation to the Flower Fund is $25 per every four honorees named. There is no minimum nor maximum for donations to the Music Fund. You may make your check payable to St. Thomas Episcopal Church. Please include a note with your check to describe your dedication, and to indicate which fund you are supporting. Please submit all Easter donations to the office by April 4. Thank you!

TONIGHT: St. Thomas Readers Book Discussion Group
Read!
The St. Thomas Readers Book Group will meet at 5:30 pm on Thursday, March 22, at the home of Pat McMahon, 4322 Deanery Court, Columbus. The book under discussion is Have a Little Faith by Mitch Albom, an exploration of two lives: one his childhood Rabbi and the other a pastor of a Detroit inner city

church. Albom found his own life and faith impacted by these two men. His account is a meaningful exploration of what faith is and what it means to lead a faith-filled life. Have a Little Faith is available at the public library, at local bookstores and online. Please contact Sonya Boyd at 706-563-6161 or

janjulau@aol.com for further information.

Lenten Outreach Giving Opportunities
CCG
Our goal is to raise $1000 for each of the ministries described below. Please make out your check to the parish, marked Lenten Giving. You may designate to either of these ministries. All undesignated Lenten outreach gifts will be split between them. You may give through the parish office, or give through the link on our website (at the bottom of the main page).

+ The Church of the Common Ground (pictured above) is a ministry for the homeless of Atlanta. It provides care for the poorest of the poor, and a forum in which people of our Diocese can engage, serve, and worship with homeless persons. Click here for more information.

+ Infusion, a ministry of the Chattahoochee Valley Episcopal Ministry, brings high school students into year-long engagement with important issues of faith and society. Click here for more information.

Friends of Finley to Create Honorarium
Oak Server
A group calling itself "Friends of Finley" has been formed to create an honorarium for Finley Williamson's innumerable contributions to St. Thomas. This group has approached the church, and received the blessings of the Property Committee and the Vestry. The honorarium will be a mission-style oak server (pictured), designed and built by artisan Rick Garner. Mr. Garner is asking a discounted price of $5000. To contribute to this project, please make your check payable to St. Thomas Episcopal Church, with the memo "Friends of Finley" written in the memo line of your check. Our goal is to have the project completed by Finley's birthday on June 10. Please note that this is not a gift TO Finley. Rather, it is a gift TO St. Thomas Episcopal Church IN HONOR OF Finley. It will be enjoyed by all parishioners for many years to come. Thank you.

Wade in the Water will immerse our kids in scripture through faith-filled games, science activities, crafts, music, and more!  This summer, share stories that spark faith! We need teachers, volunteers, and lots of CHILDREN!!
