+ A Lenten Discipline: Last Sunday, Fr. Hahn spoke of a very practical and moving Lenten discipline and prayer of the Archbishop of Taonga. Many of you asked for a copy of this. Here is a copy of the Archbishop's words: http://anglicantaonga.org.nz/Features/practice.

Sunday Music Preview
For this Sunday, the St. Thomas Ringers and the St. Thomas Choir have prepared some beautiful pieces. The prelude for bells was composed by one of the most prolific writers for bell music in America. Cynthia Dobrinski (b. 1950), a former Fulbright scholar, now resides in Texas in retirement.
The offertory anthem was written by Samuel Sebastian Wesley, who is the former Organist of Gloucester Cathedral and the grandson of Charles Wesley. Wesley's anthem is one of the most famous settings of Psalm 51.
The communion anthem is an arrangement of a beautiful tune from Sweden set for two flutes. We are grateful to flutists Gary Wortley and Jeanne Martz for sharing their talents in this Sunday's performance.

St. Thomas Readers Book Discussion Group
The St. Thomas Readers Book Group will meet at 5:30 pm on Thursday, March 22, at the home of Pat McMahon, 4322 Deanery Court, Columbus. The book under discussion is Have a Little Faith by Mitch Albom, an exploration of two lives: one his childhood Rabbi and the other a pastor of a Detroit inner city
church. Albom found his own life and faith impacted by these two men. His account is a meaningful exploration of what faith is and what it means to lead a faith-filled life. Have a Little Faith is available at the public library, at local bookstores and online. Please contact Sonya Boyd at 706-563-6161 or
janjulau@aol.com for further information. |
| Prayer Group to Alter Weekly Schedule
The Monday Prayer Group will be meeting at 11:00 am instead of 11:30 throughout Lent to allow the members to attend the Lenten luncheon series at Trinity Episcopal Church. This group meets at St. Thomas in the Chapel. You are welcome to join us. Thank you.

Friends of Finley to Create Honorarium
A group calling itself "Friends of Finley" has been formed to create an honorarium for Finley Williamson's innumerable contributions to St. Thomas. This group has approached the church, and received the blessings of the Property Committee and the Vestry. The honorarium will be a mission-style oak server (pictured), designed and built by artisan Rick Garner. Mr. Garner is asking a discounted price of $5000. To contribute to this project, please make your check payable to St. Thomas Episcopal Church, with the memo "Friends of Finley" written in the memo line of your check. Our goal is to have the project completed by Finley's birthday on June 10. Thank you.
