A Child's Walk Through Holy Week
Children are invited to learn about Christ's death and resurrection during this special event: "A Child's Walk Through Holy Week". This event will be held in All Saints' Hall on Palm Sunday, April 17, following the 10:30 a.m. service. Lunch will be provided, and parents can pick up their children at 2:00 p.m. This event will provide a fitting preparation for Easter Day celebrations.
St. Thomas is committed to a full Passiontide and Easter experience for parishioners of all ages. Our parish-wide Easter Egg Hunt held on Easter morning at 9:30 a.m. utilizes the youth of the church to hide Easter eggs around our beautiful grounds, and then the younger children, grouped by age, are encouraged to find them. Everyone "wins," and a great time is had by all!
The children are also encouraged to bring flowers from home to fasten to a bare cross of the Passion. This is an especially striking and beautiful way to symbolize the new life that emerges from the death of Good Friday. For more information about children's events, contact Erin Redden at episcokids@stthomascolumbus.org. |
Easter Donations
There are currently three valuable and deserving programs at St. Thomas which are seeking monetary donations. For any of these donations, you may make your check payable to St. Thomas Episcopal Church, and indicate which program you are supporting by writing it on your check, on an envelope enclosing your check, or in a note submitted with it. Please submit all Easter donations to the office by April 19. Thank you!
The three programs are:
+ The Flower Guild is seeking funding for flowers to adorn our Nave with new life on Easter Sunday.
+ St. Thomas Choir is seeking funding for brass and tympani to perform on Easter Sunday to enhance our celebration.
+ The Vestry is seeking funding to assist our student representative, Zach Grantham, with tuition for the Kid4Peace program, www.kids4peaceatlanta.org |
