Our Prayers for James Mills
Many of you know and appreciate our sexton James Mills. We are sad to report that he was in a motorcycle accident on Monday, and he is currently in Columbus Regional Medical Center. The accident has broken his kneecap, and he has undergone surgery to stabilize the injury. After the swelling decreases, he will undergo at least one additional surgery. We anticipate that he will be unable to work for at least four weeks, or possibly longer.
St. Thomas will be engaging temporary, part-time custodial services to substitute for James until he is back on his feet. However, during these weeks, we ask that all parishioners make an effort to keep our facilities as clean and functional as possible, under the circumstances. Thank you!
Our prayers are with James, and we know that his absence will make us appreciate him even more when he returns! We also want you to know that we have a good short-term disability insurance that will help us cover James's salary and our sexton supply costs for the near future.

A Child's Walk Through Holy Week

Children are invited to learn about Christ's death and resurrection during this special event: "A Child's Walk Through Holy Week". This event will be held in All Saints' Hall on Palm Sunday, April 17, following the 10:30 a.m. service. Lunch will be provided, and parents can pick up their children at 2:00 p.m. This event will provide a fitting preparation for Easter Day celebrations.
St. Thomas is committed to a full Passiontide and Easter experience for parishioners of all ages. Our parish-wide Easter Egg Hunt held on Easter morning at 9:30 a.m. utilizes the youth of the church to hide Easter eggs around our beautiful grounds, and then the younger children, grouped by age, are encouraged to find them. Everyone "wins," and a great time is had by all!
The children are also encouraged to bring flowers from home to fasten to a bare cross of the Passion. This is an especially striking and beautiful way to symbolize the new life that emerges from the death of Good Friday. For more information about children's events, contact Erin Redden at episcokids@stthomascolumbus.org. | |

How Can You Contribute to a
Beautiful Easter Sunday?

As we approach the Easter season, we would like to remind our parishioners that our flower budget is funded 100% by donations. The Flower Guild has plans to make our Easter flowers very special. You can make a special Easter dedication in memory or in honor of a loved one or friend for a suggested $25 donation which will be listed in the order of service on Easter Day. Please call, mail, or e-mail your dedication to the church office. There are also envelopes available in the pews that can be dropped in the offering plate. The deadline to receive donations for Easter is April 19, and any amount is appreciated. Thank you!

Donate for Special Easter Music!

Each year, we include special brass and tympani music in our celebration of the festivals of Christmas and Easter, and their presence adds immeasurably to our common worship. We have no funds budgeted to cover this cost, so we solicit your contributions in honor or memory of friends or family of your choice. Please make your check to St. Thomas and indicate "Easter Music." A card will then be sent to those you choose to honor. Thank you! |

Kids4Peace
Kids4Peace is an international program which brings together a select group of young people from the United States, Israel, and Palestine - Christian, Jewish, and Muslim - to live together for three weeks in an experience of peace and mutual understanding. The program is cosponsored by the Diocese of Atlanta. Last year Lauren Ford was part of Kids4Peace; this year we are proud of Zach Grantham, who has been selected in our diocese. The Vestry has agreed to assist Zach with the program's tuition; they also want to give you an opportunity to help. You may make contributions to the parish, designated Kids4Peace. "We are standing by the church in Japan during this difficult time," said Nagulan Nesiah, program officer for Episcopal Relief & Development. "As you can imagine, the needs are overwhelming, and it will take time to assess the best ways to support the church and Japan as they move toward recovery."
