Graduation 2010 |
Join us in congratulating the Marian Middle School class of 2010! On May 20th, eighteen young women joined the ranks of our alumnae. Like the 67 girls who graduated before them, they applied themselves, put in long hours and learned to love being a Marian Girl. They will join other Marian Middle School graduates at Bishop DuBourg, Cardinal Ritter College Prep, Crossroads, Incarnate Word, Metro, Nerinx, St. Elizabeth, Ursuline and Notre Dame! |
|
Accomplishments | Congratulations are in order for our students who competed in math and science contests with some of the best students in the St. Louis area!
Three girls took part in the Seventh Grade Math Contest at Rosati-Kain High School. 171 girls from 28 schools took individual, as well as team, problem solving tests. Kristi N. won a blue ribbon, Stephanie H. won red and Kaitlynn W. won white.
Two students, Asia M. and Cortesia O., participated in the Botball Robotics Competition at SIUE. They've been on a team with students from Loyola Academy and De LaSalle Middle School, meeting weekly with local engineers, Peggy Devereaux and Steve Hutchison. Although the team did not win, they advanced four rounds against teams ranging from sixth to twelfth grade. We're very proud of our middle school students, their teacher, Michele Perrin, and volunteer, Kathy Winfrey!

- September 23, Live and Learn Lecture Series
Join Marian Middle School in welcoming Father Greg Boyle, SJ for a Live and Learn Lecture Series on Thursday, September 23, at Heagney Theatre on the campus of Nerinx Hall. Twenty years ago, a Jesuit pastor in gang-ridden Los Angeles began to respond to young people who needed help surviving the dangerous streets around the parish. Father Greg Boyle began with a school and developed a large enterprise of related businesses and free services known as Homeboy Industries. Reserve your space now.
- October 7, Third Annual Women's Event
Last year, over 250 women enjoyed networking, cocktails and light hors d'oeuvres to benefit Marian Middle School and empower young women to reach their full potential. Don't miss this year's event which will take place on Thursday, Oct. 7, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center.
