Meet Mrs. Young

Last month we introduced you to Harambee Christian School's newest veteran Science teacher, Laura Kramer.  This month, we're excited to introduce Patty Young.

Mrs. Young may be new to Harambee, but she is no stranger to the classroom, having previously taught Science at Calumet Christian School.

When asked what interested her most about coming to teach at Harambee, Mrs. Young said, "God has instilled in me a deep passion for working with middle school students.  Over the past four years, he has deepened this passion further through working with urban students at a middle school Bible study.  Teaching middle school at Harambee is a dream come true."

One of Mrs. Young's main goals is for her students to see themselves with God's eyes:  "My great hope for my students is to have confidence in who God says they are, seeing they can learn and excel, even in areas that are challenging.   I want my students to develop value in working hard and pressing through challenges instead of giving up."

For those looking to get involved in urban ministry, Mrs. Young's advice is to, "Pray that the Lord will show you where He would have you serve, being open to wherever He may lead you.  Don't be suprised when you find yourself feeling inadequate and 'in over your head' so to speak.  These are the greatest times to see His heart and the power of His love in action."

Welcome aboard, Mrs. Young.  We are glad to have you!
