Students Pay it Forward
Generous supporters help make an amazing Holiday possible for Harambee students and their families.
Students enjoying Pillow Pets donated by Emerson Liebert!
As 2010 drew to an close, students and families in South Linden were greatly impacted by the generous donations of gifts by long time Urban Concern supporters, Emerson Liebert Corporation.   Every student received a Pillow Pet and set of crazy straws.  Additional gifts were placed in the Harambee School Store, where students received a Christmas "bling" bonus to purchase gifts for themselves and their friends and families via the Harambee School Economy.

Special thanks to Emerson Liebert for the generosity and continued support of our students!

What do mustaches and urban ministry have in common?  Many thanks also go out to the college ministry at Xenos Christian Fellowship, which raised over $400 in support of gifts that Harambee students purchased to give to their parents for Christmas.  How did they raise this money?  By growing mustaches of course!  A number of students in the college ministry spent the months of November and December growing out marvelous mustaches to compete in fundraiser appropriately titled Mustache Mayhem.

The Columbus Foundation provides invaluable support in strengthening South Linden  Multiple funds and supporting foundations support After School Program, Parenting with Love & Logic Classes, and the expansion of Harambee Community Center.

We are grateful to acknowledge The Columbus Foundation's ongoing support of Urban Concern and their recent gifts made to our After School Program from the Benua Foundation Field of Interest and Agnes Marie Trimmer Funds.  Likewise, generous support was also given from the A. Irene Emswiler Fund of the Foundation in support of our new Parenting With Love & Logic Classes.

We're also grateful for the continued support of The Siemer Family Foundation for helping to fund our After School Program, in addition to The Ingram White Castle Foundation for helping to make the expansion of Harambee Community Center and School a reality!  Both of these foundations are Supporting Foundations of The Columbus Foundation.

On behalf of the students and families in South Linden, we thank you!
