Urban Concern has a New Website!

We are excited to share the new urbanconcern.org  with you.  We redesigned our website to be more interactive and easy to navigate.  The latest content, news, and student work will be highlighted on our main page, with previous posts archived under News & Media -> Blog.  Please check back often for the latest information on what God is doing in South Linden.

We've also included a Community Partners page to highlight and acknowledge those who have helped us empower individuals and families in South Linden to be agents of positive change.

New Staff Brings New Life to After School Program

Sherry Barbour and Brandon Grant are two faces we hope you get to know in the near future.

As our new After School Program Director (ASP), Sherry oversees the operation and expansion of the ASP.  Sherry is a parent of Harambee students and a previous classroom worker, and we are confident that her heart and experience will help us further develop the ASP.

As the new Youth Coordin
ator, Brandon will be responsible for overseeing the Middle School Study Table during the ASP, as well as developing the mentoring program and small group Bible studies.

Since 1990, the After School Program has been a light in the South Linden community.  Up to 70 students meet to receive academic support and personal guidance each school day. In addition, this year's After School Program offers a variety of exciting opportunities for our students to learn a wide range of skills from web design, to foreign language, to violin lessons.

In Sherry's own words, "The After School Program is exists to reassure each student that our support does not stop when the bell rings at the end of the day.  We are there to see them through the complete learning process!"

Do you want to get involved with helping Sherry and Brandon make a difference in the lives of our students?  Contact them at our website.
