The Language of the Line
Closing Party this Thursday!Lincoln Square Mall will play host to Marino's works, including oil paintings from "The Language of the Line" series. A companion, 20X60" oil painting from the series will be exhibited at the Common Grounds Food Co-op during the same time period. The fifteen paintings on exhibit explore the world through the lens of minimalism.

The Freak Brothers with John Elder
A variety of music at the UC-IMCA concert of acoustic, blues, and original folk music. John Elder plays finger-picking guitar in the Piedmont and Mississippi Blues style. The Irish Landscape
Paintings by Sam McCreadyBelfast-born artist Sam McCready will be exhibiting landscapes of his native Ireland that evoke not merely the topography, but the feelings and moods he associates with it. He works principally from memory, creating with rich colors and textures, images of the stunning landscape of mountains, lakes, bog and sky. Sam studied at Stranmillis College, a constituent college of Queen's University and with leading teachers at The Belfast College of Art. He is also an actor, writer, director and Professor Emeritus of Theatre at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. He currently has homes in both Ireland and the U.S., and is working on a major exhibit of his work in Ireland in 2011-2012. Sam will also be giving a lecture entitled: Art Within Walls: Artists and Musicians of Terezin, 1941-45November 16th, 4:00pmIn addition, the Studio Theatre at the Krannert Center for Performing Arts is showcasing a one-woman show that he adapted from a Holocaust memoir by Helen Lewis entitled "A Time to Speak" on November 16-17, with Sam's wife Joan as the solo performer.
