Iron Post Jazz FestivalThe 1st Annual Iron Post Jazz Fest, at the Iron Post in Urbana, will feature nine ensembles including: Jazz Sextet with Ray Sasaki; Dan Pierson Combo; The Music of Art Blakey; Parkland Trad Jazz; U of I Concert Jazz Band; Karim Yengsep Combo; U of I Jazz Faculty; Music of Django Reinhardt; and Darden Purcell and Donnie Heitler.  This project is paid for in part by the City of Urbana Arts Grant.  See the full schedule below:

Installation Dedication of "Bench 9"
The City of Urbana invites the public to attend a dedication of the sculpture entitled, "Bench 9", on Friday. "Bench 9" is the third of four sculptures to be installed in Urbana this spring for a two-year placement. Barry Hehemann, a sculptor from River Forest, IL, and an alumnus of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, will be installing the piece on the corner of Cedar Street and Green Street, adjacent to the Urbana Free Library, as part of the Urbana Sculpture Project.

Bicycle racing in Research Park and Downtown Urbana!

Tour de C-UHundreds of racers will take to the streets for the second year of the Tour de C-U cycling event - "Tour de C-U"! Champaign Urbana- Bicycle racing comes to Central Illinois for the Tour de C-U presented by Verizon, CU Radio Group, Fluid Events, 88 Broadway and Wild Card Cycling. The Tour de C-U is just part of the two day event featuring professional cycling, great food, live music, pre and post event concerts, vendors and more. Our cycling event is unique to the racing circuit because it includes two separate races on two different courses. Most racecourses are not designed like our two in that our racecourses allow for the spectators to see all of the action up close!

Jeanie received her cosmetology license in Oklahoma and Kansas and concentrated her skills as a Nail Technician. She has been doing nails, manicures and pedicures, for the last 25 years and specializes in natural nail services.  Jeanie has been technically trained in hand and foot massage and attends numerous classes in the surrounding area on manicure and pedicure techniques.  In addition to her 25 years of Salon experience, she also does nails for shows including Christopher's Jewelry "Ladies Night Out" and "Springtini" shows.

Call for Art for Urbana "Artist of the Corridor" Exhibit Program
Creating a city where all residents engage with the arts in its many forms!

Urbana Public Arts: Artist Corridor
The City of Urbana has created an art exhibit space in the City Building at 400 S. Vine Street for seasonal exhibits of artwork by Urbana artists.  The program, entitled "Artist of the Corridor", is featuring its first exhibit this Spring with the work of Michael Fuerst, whose diverse works are on display in the City Building. Artists living in Urbana are invited to participate in the program.  The Artist of the Corridor Summer 2010 exhibit will begin on June 1st, and will be displayed until August 31st.  Exhibitions are displayed quarterly.
