My Favorite Year at Urbana High SchoolA production that is chocked full of laughs!
It's 1954, and Benjy Stone, freshman writer on TV's King Kaiser Comedy Cavalcade, is assigned the daunting task of baby-sitting veteran Hollywood swashbuckler Alan Swann while he's doing a live guest appearance on the show. The effort to keep the reckless Swann off the booze and out of the papers during the rehearsal week nearly drives Benjy to the brink. But when he's given an unexpected glimpse into Swann's broken heart, Benjy begins to discover a thing or two about life and love.

Twin Cities Twosome Run/Walk
Partnering with the
Children's Advocacy Center!
At the 18th annual Twin Cities Twosome in 2009, Human Kinetics was
able to contribute $12,000 to the three benefiting charities: A Woman's
Fund, The Crisis Nursery, and the T.I.M.E.S. Center. Plan on joining us
on Saturday for another great morning of running and
walking! The race draws plenty of praise from participants for
its organization. Don Dodsson, the News-Gazette business writer, has
participated in many Twin Cities Twosomes and said he "likes to talk it
up with his friends because it is such a good event."

UHS Vocational Education Looking For Perspective
Employers Help Prepare A Future Worker!
Urbana High School has 2 unique vocational education programs. The
Cooperative Education program allows students aged 16-18 years old to
gain experience at Urbana-area job sites for school credit. Current work site locations include restaurants, retail outlets,
daycare centers and business offices. In addition, the WECEP program
provides special permit for workers aged 14-15 to experience their first
"real world" job by working during lunch periods each school day. We
are seeking new work site partners for our vocational
students for the 2010-2011 school year. Please contact Kristen Bartholomew at kbartholomew@usd116.org
or Tammy Newton at tnewton@usd116.org
for more information or to become a new work site partner!
