City of Urbana Receives Sister Cities Grant International grant for African sustainability project!
Sister Cities International has awarded a two-year, $115,000 grant to
the city of Urbana, Illinois to perform projects that address
sanitation, health, and water issues in urban areas of Africa. This
project is funded by a $7.5 million grant from the Bill & Melinda
Gates Foundation.
"This Sister Cities International program represents a major effort
to address fundamental needs of citizens of urban areas in Africa," said

Lemonade Day
It's not too late to sign up a child, donate, sponsor or volunteer!
Lemonade Day is a free citywide community educational program designed to teach youth how to start, own and operate their own business - a lemonade stand. This Sunday, thousands of kids in Central Illinois will set up lemonade stands in our community, providing schools, businesses and families the unique opportunity to come together to help our next generation learn essential entrepreneurial skills and valuable life lessons. We also encourage you to set up your lemonade
stand on Saturday, because 20,000 people are anticipated to participate
in this year's Christie Clinic Illinois Marathon! What a great
opportunity to sell lemonade!
