We want to make sure that we are making this weekly mailing as efficient and informative as possible. As you scroll down, you will see a little bit of both. If you are wondering, "How do I get my information or event into the Top Ten", the answer is directly below!
|

Urbana's Climate Action Plan Public Input Session
Help us shape the draft Climate Action Plan that will be sent to Urbana's City Council for action!
We want to educate members of the community and businesses about actions and programs that reduce energy use, save money, stimulate our local economy, and improve our environment. We also want to solicit input from the community on how we can best meet these goals and learn about potential barriers to success and solutions to those barriers. Listen in on a brief overview of the science so all attendees are starting from the same point.

Law Day Poster Contest
Law Day is Friday, April 30, 2010
Who Can Participate? All public, private & home school students in grades 3-12.
Why Participate? Designing a poster and researching the theme can give you a voice in your community. Good posters tell important stories to present and future generations. Posters capture people's attention with a powerful graphic and inspire with a message to your community.
Rules: Any media may be used to create a flat or two-dimensional effect (paint, crayon, colored pencil, charcoal, ink or other materials). Poster size must be 8.5" x 11" (portrait or landscape). All posters must be created by an individual student rather than a team of students.
All entries must be postmarked by April 15, 2010 to: Law Day Poster Contest c/o Early American Museum PO BOX 1040 Mahomet, IL 61853-1040
Although younger students will most likely receive help in planning from parents or teachers, we encourage each student to do as much of the work as possible by him/herself. Entries completed by students in their handwriting and coloring will score better.
