cannot afford even one dollar. However,
collectively we can make a difference! Enjoy 10 minutes of laughter exercises and if you can, donate your pennies, nickels,

 The City of
Urbana's Market at the Square, one of Illinois' largest farmers'
markets, invites the public to participate in the Market's new strategic
planning initiative. Market staff, along
with City Planning staff and a steering committee made up of Market
vendors, representatives from area businesses, elected officials, and
members of the public, will be conducting a strategic planning effort
for the Market in the months leading up to the 2010 season. This
planning exercise is designed to create Market mission and vision
statements, set goals for the Market's future, and to give the City a
blueprint from which to operate the Market for the next several years. For more information, click here!

Urbana's Sustainability Advisory Commission Public Input Session
Help us shape the draft Climate Action Plan that will be sent
to Urbana's City Council for action!
We want to educate members of the community and
businesses about actions and programs that reduce energy use, save
money, stimulate our local economy, and improve our environment. We also
want to solicit input from the community on how we can best meet these
goals and learn about potential barriers to success and solutions to
those barriers. Listen in on a brief overview of the science so
all attendees are starting from the same point. Then,
break into "poster sessions" where people can
rotate among stations that represent the different sectors of our
community. Each station will have someone to briefly talk about the
energy use of that sector and what is identified as priority
strategies for reducing energy usage in that sector to help us meet that
25% reduction goal. Give your feedback, and hopefully participate in a
discussion at each of these
stations. Finally, meet back as a large group to review the
feedback received, and provide people the chance to address the entire
group.
