Coaches vs. Cancer: Downtown Throwdown On Saturday, February 6th, four local business organizations will join forces with Bruce Weber in the first ever "Downtown Throwdown" in support of the American Cancer Society's Coaches vs. Cancer fundraising drive. The Urbana Business Association, Krannert Center District, Campustown Business Group, Champaign Downtown AssociationThe News-GazetteWDWS and WHMS have all united in an effort to raise funds for this wonderful cause. These Downtown Districts have encouraging their members to donate a percentage of their sales on Saturday, February 6th to the cause.

Local artist and composer Vin Calianno has composed a new score for "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari," a German expressionism film from 1921. Hear a live performance of Calianno's score as the original footage is projected. Not to be missed! This performance will be on Saturday evening at 9:30 pm.

In this workshop, Hopi-Tewa storyteller and author Eldrena Douma helps participants pinpoint personal life stories (both remembered and waiting to be re-awakened) that are appropriate for story development. She also shares tales that give examples of how history and life stories remain strong among her tribes and family and how some of these stories have made their way into books for preservation purposes.
