'Tis the Season to "do good": Take 5 and Give 5
The holidays are a time of merriment, family, sharing, and love. For many, though, 2009 has been rough. Our economy has pushed too many families into dangerous positions: they lack jobs, adequate shelter, food, and warmth. Today, we ask of you this simple action: join us in taking 5 minutes to give $5 to your favorite charity. Then, forward this message to 5 friends and ask them to do the same.

The do good Consulting Team:
Laura Huth ($5 to Mission 180)
Jenn Raley Miller ($5 to Nothing But Nets)
Elizabeth Simpson ($5 to the Peoria Animal Welfare Shelter)
Jessica Paulsen ($5 to the Greater Chicago Food Depository)
Tim Newcomb ($5 to Illini Christian Ministries)

The UBA Team:
Susan Toalson ($5 to Salt & Light)
Katie Hansen ($5 to Champaign County Humane Society)
Tyla Conerly ($5 to Empty Tomb, Inc.)

News-Gazette Wedding Packages

News-Gazette Wedding Packages

The News-Gazette sends out wedding packages every week to newly engaged couples in our area. We send out roughly 20 or so a month and the mailings contain our I Do Magazine, flyers, brochures, magnets, business cards,
coupons and other things from local businesses that could help in the planning of a wedding.

We'd like to see if any or all of our downtown businesses would like to provide something for these weekly mailings. It's free and is a good way to connect your business with local brides and grooms. The items should be
fairly flat and able to fit in a 9"x12" mailing envelope. Nothing heavy please.

Questions about what we are doing or what items are appropriate for mailings? Contact Erin at 217-351-5376 or e-mail me. You may also drop off the items at the
front desk of The News-Gazette. Just put Attn: Erin on them.
