Art Hooha 2009Art HooHa 2009 will feature art and fine crafts for show and sale by both professional artists and art students who have joined to schedule open studios, home shows, and special gallery hours on the same weekend. This year the artists will be raffling off a fabulous art-ful gift bundle of delight worth over $500 (it's at Heartland Gallery right now if you want to see it). 100% of the proceeds will be donated to A Woman's Place.

Holiday Market at Lincoln Square Village

Santa pictures, gift wrapping and holiday decorations this week!
 
Holiday MarketThis week the Holiday Market will offer Santa Pictures! Pictures are a $6 donation to the Urbana High School Choir Santa for those who have been nice and naughty on December 5, December 12, and December 19 from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm. Gift wrapping will be available in the West wing for a donation by the WECEP organization through the Urbana High School. Also, check out Jerry Rhoads' wood turning and John Coppess with his Limping Cowboy Leather booth is going to be selling guitar straps, and will bring his guitar along to play! Keep in mind that some vendors have moved locations this week, so look around for them!

Morris Ardoin Quartet at Iron Post
Enjoy some Creole & Cajun music! 

Morris Ardoin QuartetRobert Krumm will be playing Creole & Cajun music next Thursday at the Iron Post in downtown Urbana as part of the Morris Ardoin Quartet.  From Duralde, Louisiana, Morris is in his 70's and a terrific Creole accordion player and fiddler. The Ardoin family is the first-family of Creole and Zydeco music in Louisiana.  Morris is the oldest son of the legendary Creole accordionist Bois Sec Ardoin, and he rarely plays outside of Louisiana. Start time will be 8:00 pm and the players will include Dennis Stroughmatt on fiddle/accordion, Matt Turino on guitar and Robert Krumm on bass.

 2010 Boneyard Arts Festival Signature Image
40 North | 88 West, Champaign County Arts, Culture and Entertainment Council invites local artists to submit work to be considered for the signature image of the 2010 Boneyard Arts Festival. All works submitted will be juried by a community panel of local arts professionals. The Boneyard signature image is used on registration materials, posters, billboards, print advertising, and on the cover of the Boneyard Arts Festival Map - the festival's official guide that is distributed throughout the county.
 
Artists are asked to submit three digital images of recent, original work along with an entry form. The form and image files (on disc) can be mailed, emailed or dropped by the 40 North offices:
