Learn about geneological software!
The Champaign County Genealogical Society will present a free Genealogical Software Showcase in the Auditorium of the Urbana Free Library. Demonstrations of real databases, showing how four different genealogical software programs organize and process genealogical information. Program images will be projected onto large screens for easy viewing. Please feel free to drop in to: observe, ask questions and wander between the demonstrations in an informal setting. You are all welcome at any time during the presentations.

Trivia Diner is the newest addition to Canopy Club's line-up of weekly events. Volunteering is SWEEEEEEEEEEET!
In an effort to make the Sweetcorn Festival greener this year, recycling tents will be located around the festival so patrons can deposit recyclable beverage cups and other acceptable items at these stations. There will be an educational component as well - The recycling tents will be interactive - Guess trivia questions, receive information about U-CYCLE and get information about your carbon footprint!

This year's annual sale will take place at the U of I Stock Pavilion at 1402 West Pennsylvania in Urbana.
Collections will take place Wednesday through Friday, August 12 - 14 from 9am - 4pm and Saturday, August 15 from 9am - 12pm.
We accept furniture, working electronics, backpacks,bicycles, school supplies, jewelry, kitchen sets, CDs, books, computer sets (tower and monitor), artwork, pictures, posters, toys, sports equipment, non-perishable food items, household appliances, and much more. We do not accept clothing during August collections, though we will have clothing at the sale.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept the following: clothing, individual computer monitors, children's car seats, holidaydecorations, video and audio cassettes, sleeper sofas, sinks, tires, large appliances (stoves,washers, dryers), non-working electronics, non-working computers or computer parts, large exercise equipment, and mattresses.

This is what we call Crazy Time. It's peak season, so our attendance is highest, and there's a lot going on with the Market. This weekend's Market includes a bike rodeo, a mentoring event, truckloads of corn, many varieties of heirloom tomatoes, the first appearance of melons, etc.
You can expect a lot of sweet corn, peaches & nectarines, berries (especially blackberries), early apples, pears, cucumbers, zucchini and summer squash, eggplant, onions, potatoes, melons, cabbage, lettuces, peppers (hot and sweet), heirloom tomatoes, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, and much more! Don't forget the wide selection of baked goods and prepared foods, plus meat, cheese, eggs, and honey.
It's National Farmers' Market Week. Come say hello at the City tent, tell us what you like about our Market, etc - show us some love on Saturday!
