We are honored to introduce two CoE
alumni as newly appointed trustees; Joel Koppelman and Bill Schleyer. They are
dynamic leaders dedicated to Drexel's vision of building integrated academic and
global programs. In addition, we congratulate our student groups and faculty
leaders on their outstanding accomplishments and research. Their amazing
achievements ensure the growth and success of our college. We offer our warmest
congratulations to our students, faculty and new trustees and look forward to
continued success as we engineer new frontiers.

Drexel Formula Hybrid SAE Club Places Third in Nationals

|
The Drexel Formula Hybrid team
competed in the 3rd Annual Formula Hybrid International Competition at the New Hampshire International Speedway, May 4-6.
Drexel placed third overall, and was the top ranked team with a series-hybrid
drive train configuration. Twenty-nine teams from the U.S., Canada, Russia and
India competed in the three-day event sponsored by SAE and IEEE. The student designs pushed
the limits of hybrid powered race cars in acceleration, autocross and endurance

Drexel Engineering Welcomes Two Alumni to Board of Trustees

CoE is proud to announce the appointment of two alumni to Drexel's Board of Trustees. CoE congratulates Joel Koppelman and Bill Schleyer!

Joel Koppelman

|
Joel Koppelman '70 (CAEE) is co-founder and chief executive officer of Primavera Systems, Inc., a software company whose clients depend on its project, resource and portfolio management solutions to identify which projects are most important and to make it easy for people to work collaboratively, productively and successfully. Primavera solutions are industry-specific and role-based, with the power to support global enterprises and they have ensured the success of projects and programs collectively worth more than $5.5 trillion. Mr. Koppelman holds a BS in civil engineering from Drexel University and an MBA in finance from Wharton. Mr. Koppelman was elected to the Drexel 100 in 2000 and he has received the Award of Merit from AACE and the Distinguished Contributor Award from PMI.

Bill Schleyer

|
Bill Schleyer '73 (MEM) has served as a director of CRA International, Inc.since January 2008. Mr. Schleyer also served as chairman and chief executive officer of Adelphia Communications Corporation until February 2007. Prior to joining Adelphia, Mr. Schleyer was president and chief executive officer of AT&T Broadband from October 2001 until February 2003 and a principal in Pilot House Ventures, a telecommunications venture capital company, from 1997 to 2001. From 1978 to 1997, Mr. Schleyer served in various positions at Continental Cablevision Corporation, including president and chief operating officer from 1993 to 1997. Mr. Schleyer received his MBA from Harvard University in 1977 and his BS in mechanical engineering from Drexel University in 1973. Currently, he is a director of Rogers Communications, a diversified Canadian communications and media company.

Humanoid Robot to be Unveiled at Philly's Please Touch Museum

Humanoid robot Jaemi HUBO will be introduced to the public at the Please Touch Museum (PTM) in Philadelphia's Fairmount Park on May 28, 2009 at 2 p.m. Jaemi is capable of complex human-like motions that people can immediately recognize and imitate. For Jaemi's first appearance in the U.S. at the PTM, Jaemi will lead viewers in a game of "Simon Says," shake hands with museum visitors and exchange greetings.
