Greetings!
 
    The Chapter Executive Board held its annual Board Transition Luncheon this week. (The old board meets the new board and turns over the reins.) It was a great meeting and I have to say, your new Chapter Executive Board continues to be intent on providing value for your membership with programs, education and innovative ideas to assist you in running a successful business. Sam Sundeleaf and the Programs Committee have some terrific events in the planning stages! 
   From a financial perspective, the 2009 board was able to streamline expenses and meet revenue expectations.  We saved a significant amount of money by moving from a printed/mailed communication system to an email system.We were also able to cut down on merchant processing fees by changing vendors and equipment.  Although we lost a few members, we also added several new Associate and Contractor members resulting in a net membership increase for the year! Monthly meeting attendance was also up over last year!
   At the January meeting we will be asking for volunteers for the various committees and special events. If you have the time, we would really benefit from your help. 
   I appreciate the opportunity to serve you. The Portland Chapter is truly an extraordinary group of people!!

Associate Night
Tuesday, January 19

         It's time for one of the most popular meetings of the year: Associate Night! This is an entire meeting devoted to our valuable Associate members. Each Associate is invited to give a brief presentation about their products or services. Find out what's new in paint products, equipment, supplies and business services. PDCA Portland Chapter contractor members are also eligible to win door prizes generously provided by our Associates.

Location:  Wilf's Restaurant, 800 NW Sixth Ave. Portland 
Time:       5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Dinner:    Three cheese and meat lasagna, ceasar salad, garlic bread and dessert.
Cost:        $28 for members, $58 for non-members (unless sponsored)
Parking:   Wilf's has 20 free spots in the lot across the street. The rest
                of that lot is pay-to-park at  $3.50 per hour (it is
                monitored).  It is less expensive to park on the street at the
                meters. Meters end at 7:00 p.m. There is also a Star Park lot
                behind Union Station that is $6 per car.
